Super Bowl Sunday

Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday, and we had planned to go to church in the morning and then come home to make some yummy snacks for the game. Unfortunately, Rob began feeling bad Saturday evening, and woke up running a fever Sunday morning. He was miserable, so he stayed at home while I took the kids to church. Doesn't Bo look too cute in his new sweater from Grandpa and Nana?
One of my biggest concerns when we move is finding a good church. We loved our church in San Angelo, and I was worried about finding something just as good in our new town. The first church we decided to visit, Lake Ridge, is in our neighborhood, and we liked it, but had a few reservations. The pastor announced his retirement at the end of the service, and we were unsure about getting involved with a group that was in a major transition. So we visited another church, across town, with a larger congregation. Long story short, we did not care for it, and all of a sudden Lake Ridge seemed really appealing! The girls had been begging to go back, so we gave it another shot last weekend. We had discussed visiting a Sunday School class this week, but with Rob being sick, that didn't happen. I have a feeling this is the church we will settle into, and I am excited! They have lots of good stuff going on for the kids, women, and families, so I hope we will fit right in.
The girls are on another matching kick, and picked out their clothes. They go in cycles of wanting to match and then refusing to wear anything that remotely co-ordinates. And for some reason they have decided their cowboy boots are the only shoes appropriate for church, and have worn them every Sunday we have been here. Nobody is surprised when they hear we are from Texas!
Rob was down in the guest bedroom asleep when we came home, so I made lunch and then we all took naps (except for Brooke, who watched a movie on the couch were I was resting). We have been trying to cut back on spending, so instead of eating out after church we've been coming home for grilled cheese sandwiches, fruit, and go-gurts. The girls weren't too happy about that the first few weeks, but now they look forward to it!
Bo likes the grilled cheese too, but does not like the crust-he picks it off and sits it aside on the table. Any time Bo is at the table, Sarge waits right beneath him for any crumbs.
And when Bo is finished eating, he starts throwing his food down for the dog-these two are becoming fast friends!
We must have all been exhausted, because we didn't wake up until 4:30. Rob was feeling a little better, but not 100%, so we skipped making snacks for the game and heated up some leftover chicken and dumplings for dinner-yum! We got the kids in their jammies so they could watch a little bit of the game before bedtime. Bo wore his football pj's in honor of the game!
Brooke was very excited about the Super Bowl-she loves sports, and doesn't really care who is playing. We told her we were rooting for Green Bay, and she was cheering away! We put the kids to bed at half-time, and the first thing she asked this morning was 'Who won the game?'.
Bethany is not interested in football, so she watched Angelina Ballerina while playing in the basement. She would come up every now and then to check the score (mostly when she heard Brooke squealing), but for the most part she was just happy to have extra time to play baby dolls before bedtime.

Rob spent the night down in the guest bedroom again, and was still feeling bad when he left for work this morning. I asked if it was safe to wash the sheets yet, or if he thought he'd be down there again tonight, and he told me to leave them just in case...that doesn't sound too good! I hope he starts feeling better soon (and I also hope nobody else gets whatever it is!).
