Big Boy Haircut

Rob has been begging me to cut Bo's hair for months now, complaining about how shaggy he was looking. Rob keeps his hair very short (and wore it that way even before joining the military), so hair over the ears and falling into the eyes is not his favorite on little boys. I kept putting him off, trying to wait until Bo's first birthday before cutting it, but he was right...it was time. Friday night Bo fell asleep in Rob's lap, and as we were watching him sleep we agreed that we would cut his hair the next morning.
We discussed taking him somewhere to have it cut, and then decided to just pull out my clippers and cut it in the kitchen. I wasn't sure he would sit still for someone else without being scared, so we decided a home haircut might be easier.
Rob was eager to help, so he started trimming up top...I was shocked at the amount of hair coming off! Bo did really well, and was happy to smile and look around while Rob was working on him (he was probably happy to have that hair out of his face!).
Once the top was finished, I got out the scissors and trimmed up the back and sides. Bo was starting to get impatient, so Rob fed him dry cereal to keep him happy. This boy loves food, so he was content as long as he kept getting little bites, and I was able to finish the haircut.

Is he not the cutest little guy?
I wanted a picture with him once we were finished, and he just kept giving me hugs. I like to think he was saying, "Thanks, Mom!".
He looks like such a big boy now-it is amazing how much difference a haircut can make! The girls did not have their first haircuts until they were much older (Brooke was almost 4 and Bethany was 2.5), so cutting my baby's hair was a whole new experience. He is growing up so fast, and we just love him to pieces!

That is the sweetest picture of him hugging you. Don't you love having a boy?! Love the haircut!

He is so sweet! He looks so cute with his haircut. We just recently did Jonah's first haircut, too, and I totally agree with you--they look so much older after they have that first haircut. That's one thing about boys--they are ALWAYS needing haircuts--very different from girls!
