My mom and niece made the trip with us, and the girls had so much fun playing along the way. Thank goodness for DSi's and coloring books! We stopped for pictures at each state line, played in the snow in Tennessee, bounced off the walls in hotels, and made memories that will last forever. After a day of relaxing, we took my mom and niece to the airport for their flight back to Texas (little did we know what a fiasco that would be...). My mom is the best, and I'm not sure we could have made the trip without her!
Today we took Brooke to her new elementary school and registered for classes. She will start tomorrow, and is so excited! Class doesn't start until 8:45, and she was up at 6:00 this morning asking when we could get dressed and go check it out. The office staff was extremely nice, and we were able to tour the school and meet her teacher.
Bo was feeling left out, so we put him in his booster seat to watch the girls. He was being so silly, growling at me and squealing. Less than a month until his first birthday-where has this year gone?
While they were baking, he ate a peach and some crackers. I'm pretty sure that wasn't quite as yummy as their tiny little yellow cakes with chocolate frosting. Their cakes were about the size of a cookie, and took about an hour to make from start to finish...guess that's what happens when you are cooking with a lightbulb!
We used our store-bought frosting to ice the cakes, and then scrubbed the container, labeled it and put it in Brooke's backpack for tomorrow.
I am hoping to have this house completely in order by the weekend, and will share pictures. Rob was here for 3 weeks before we arrived, and was able to set up our furniture and unload most of the boxes. That makes my job so much easier! I spent last weekend moving things around, setting up closets and bedrooms, and organizing the kitchen. The main thing left to work on is the basement, which has been a great play area for the kids. I also need to hang curtains, and at some point we have to tackle the garage. Rob starts back at work tomorrow, and we will be back to our 'normal' routine. We are so glad to all be together again!

Your house looks wonderful! I, too, am looking forward to seeing it set up. You and your family are greatly missed, but we hope you feel at home quickly in your new place.
Glad you made it safely. Can't wait to hear about Brooke's new school and how it compares to Texas schools.
Oh my gosh, I love your house! It looks awesome.
Also, how the heck is Bo almost one?!
I was just talking to Maryte today and saying that we need to have a reunion now that you're so close again! Let us know when you're all settled--I would love to get together!
I wouldn't have missed our trip for anything! And I don't think I would change a thing about it... what fun memories! Thank goodness for the dvd case! :) Love you guys and looking forward to coming back in the summer.
Everything looks great! I'm sorry the trip wasn't so smooth on the way up there, but glad y'all are well and together again. Looking forward to hearing more about how Brooke likes school up there!
