Brooke has been doing really well-she is totally off pain meds and slowly returning to 'normal'. She is still having pain when using the bathroom, and she gets worn out by early evening, but she has improved so much in the last couple of days. She has finally started eating again, and managed to down an entire grilled cheese last night (minus the crust). Nights are still really hard, she spends a lot of time moaning and crying, so we aren't getting much sleep. I think she may be overdoing it a bit during the day, and then hurting at night-if only I could convince her to take a nap! My mom brought Bethany home on Tuesday, and stayed with us for the rest of the week to help out.

Rob was off Wednesday, and he was nice enough to watch the kids for a couple of hours while I had a much needed break. My mom and I did a little shopping (it doesn't take long at our tiny mall-ha!) and I got my hair cut. We had fun and came home feeling refreshed.
Brooke was getting stir-crazy, so we all ventured out of the house yesterday. We went to the store to pick out a present for a birthday party this weekend, and then had lunch at Outback (Brooke's favorite). It was nice to be out and about...the fresh air was good for all of us.

I'm so happy to hear that Brooke is feeling better and better! And I'm glad that you had some extra help!
Good for Brooke, good for mom, good for all the Bennetts. Glad steady progress is still occurring.
Thank you fo your detailed posts...about the surgery and recovery. My little girl 51/2 years old will be undergoing a similar surgery 2 weeks from today and reading your posts give me a much better idea of what to expect. Thanks. I trust that Brooke is back to normal now...
