Bethany is Back!

There is no place like home, and no place better to sleep than your own bed. We weren't technically in our own beds, but the playroom bed was much more comfortable than the hospital. Brooke slept well last night, only getting up a couple of times to go to the bathroom. She was moaning a lot in her sleep, and her incision was bothering her quite a bit. She was up for the day at 7:00, and spent some time with Rob and Bo while I slept a few extra hours.

She has done really well today, and it is getting easier for her to move around. She spent some time at the table putting together a candy jewelry set that our pastor sent to the hospital, she sat at the table in the computer room to color and she even managed to sit down on the floor to read some books. At this point, her recovery is very much like mine was after having a c-section, so she has a lot of sympathy from me! We have to be careful not to make her laugh, because that really hurts. We've had to turn off a few movies that were just too funny to watch without her crying. She still prefers to stand up, as that is more comfortable for her incision, and getting her settled into bed is a bit tricky. We used 6 pillows last night to get her into a position that wasn't painful. She is still having a lot of pain when she needs to use the restroom, which is to be expected. As far as pain meds, she is down to only Tylenol and Ditropan (the Ditropan she has been on for the last 6 months and helps with bladder spasms).

This afternoon Bethany came home, and we were so excited to see her. We have never been away from the girls for more than a night, so I was anxious about sending Bethany to Moo Moo's house for a week. Turns out I worried for nothing-she had a blast! She went shopping, played with cousins, spent time at the pool and was spoiled rotten by two sets of grandparents. She said she didn't miss us, only her baby, and was disappointed that Bo was sleeping when she got here. As soon as he woke up she wanted to hold him, and told me to make him a bottle so she could feed him. Brooke was pretty worn out this evening, and was starting to hurt again. I laid down with her while she fell asleep, and then watched a little tv with Moo Moo. She will be staying for a few days to help us out while Brooke continues to heal-we love it when my mom comes to take care of us!
